Two male Brazilian nationals, Jose Antonio Rodrigues Dos Santos, age 58 years, and Isac Aguiar Abreu, age 36 years, both Miners from Boa Vista, Brazil, were arrested on 22-09-2025 and charged with the offence of 'Purchasing Gold from a Person other than the Board or Agent authorized by the Board', contrary to Section (7)(2) of the Guyana Gold Board Act, Chapter 66:01, en violation de l'article 23 de la Guyana Gold Board Act, chapitre 66:01.
Les deux accusés ont comparu aujourd'hui devant le tribunal de magistrat de Lethem (23 septembre 2025) devant son magistrat de culte Omadatt Chandan, où l'accusation a été lue, séparément.
Ils ont tous deux plaidé coupable et ont chacun été condamné à une amende de 75 000 $ ou 7 mois.
